I came to find another online X-word game that I enjoy so much more; Wordfeud! But my favorite Scrabble game is when I play with my sister, and we are free to make up new words, so long as our definition is acceptable to the other player. I would very much like to hear from a TWL proponent as well.
The two list is mostly real words in use today the sowpods is a ridiculous compilation of obscure words which are not used by English speaking people. The differences between American and Commonwealth spelling is an advantage when remembering the alternate word spellings.
You actually can choose which one to use as well as whether you opt for a Standard Board or Random Board. You might think that the story ends there but hang on my Scrabble loving friends, our tale is not yet complete. It is harder to play with ecrabble words, to be sure, but I think the TWL is hypocritical and should be banned. Let's face it, you were going to do that anyway, right?
I personally own a copy of Collins Official Scrabble Words which is, as far as I know, the most recent printed version of a Scrabble word list. The second International was considered superior to the Third. I would really appreciate his comment.
Hi Siobhan, we are constantly trying to update our Scrabble Helper word lists to enable you and others to check for existing and learn new words. Unlike CSW, TWL needs to be supplemented with another official list for adjudicating words of letters in length.

Well there you are, Scrabble players are indeed a rum lot. To answer the inevitable question - Sowpods is not a valid word in Scrabble in any version, sorry about that, so erase it from your tile rack.
The story so far: You may be scratching your head trying to work out the meaning of this strange words which looks like it would score pretty well if you played it in the gamefret not - SOWPODS is not a real word but instead an anagram of two acronyms!
The Americans though have their own unique spelling quirks, meaning that they could not use the same dictionary.
When playing online, it is easy when stuck to drag and drop letters to see if they make words. A second edition of CSW has not yet been published, so no version number is needed. The US games manufacturers commissioned their own special dictionary called the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary OSPDwhich was first published in and revised a number of times since. It also includes longer words if they are inflections of words having 8 letters or fewer. It is richer and more flexible. Anyway, there might be reasons to use TWL and I hope someone who knows comes along this article.

It makes game more interesting…. Doing this I have often made obscure words that have improved my scores. Worse still, the built-in dictionaries are often riddled scrsbble errors!
The longest valid word that you can make from SOWPODS is Swoops, which sadly does not score anywhere near as well, lacking as it does scabble 50 bonus points from playing a 7-letter word.
